Situated in a quiet area surrounded by vineyards and farmland in a tiny hamlet 18 miles south-west of Saumur.

Farmhouse accommodation

Fully equipped kitchen / breakfast room with double bowl sink, fitted units, pine dresser, gas cooker with grill and auto-timer, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, toaster, coffee maker, good quality cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils.

Dining table seats six. French doors open out onto back garden and pool area. Side door opens to courtyard for washing line area.

Lounge / dining room with dining table, two 3-seater settees, coffee table and two dressers.

Lounge with two 3-seater settees, coffee table, satellite TV, DVD player and glass fronted wood burner.

Bathroom with full-size bath with shower over and a washing machine.

Ground floor ensuite bedroom with twin beds that can be zip-linked to make a king size double, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables with lights, floor standing fan and window with views onto the back garden.
The ensuite comprises shower, wash basin and WC.

First floor

Bedroom 1 - with en-suite shower and separate WC and wash hand basin.

Bedroom 2 - with en-suite shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Both bedrooms have twin beds or zip-linked super king double, small wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside lights.

Also air-conditioning, tea/coffee making facility and mini-fridges.

Cottage Gite

This one-bedroom cottage can be rented for up to 6 people by incorporating one or both of the upstairs bedrooms in the Farmhouse Gite (see Farmhouse section above for details and photos of the bedrooms).

Ground floor

Open plan kitchen/lounge. The kitchen is equipped with double sink, gas hob, electric oven/grill, toaster, microwave, large upright fridge-freezer, 8-place dishwasher, washing machine and good quality cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils.

Lounge with sofa, armchairs, satellite TV, DVD player and fold-away dining table.

Shower room with wash hand basin, WC, large mirror, power points and storage units.

First floor

Large bedroom with a double and single bed (option for guests requiring a bed each), bedside tables and lights, chest of drawers and small wardrobe.
Air conditioning unit.

The bedroom has less than usual head height.

A pair of French doors lead out onto the raised balcony giving magnificent uninterrupted views over Anjou vineyards and farmland with the hill top village of Le Puy Notre Dame in the distance.

Outside

At the side of, and behind the Cottage is a small, private garden with an umbrella washing line. From here you have your own entrance onto the main back garden and the swimming pool.

At the front of the Cottage is a courtyard type garden with table and chairs.

Facilities Available

There is an indoor games room attached to the farmhouse with table tennis, darts board and basketball net, also contains outdoor games equipment.

Indoor games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Articulate, Trivial Pursuits, cards and jigsaws are available. There are also many interesting books about the locality, its history and natural history.

Heated outdoor swimming pool - 10m x 5m with roman steps, depths from 1m - 1.7m. The pool heated to 28° Celsius from May to September.

Garden and pool furniture, picnic tables, a sun lounger for each person, sun umbrellas, lounger side tables and a swing chair and charcoal barbecue.

Tennis court - free unlimited use of the court.

All our facilities are shared between the Farmhouse and Cottage guests and the owners, except when rented out with exclusive use as Farmhouse Gîte in July and August or when rented out with exclusive use as the Cottage with use of both Farmhouse bedrooms.

Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast

The two upstairs bedrooms in the Farmhouse are available to book for Bed & Breakfast most of the year except in July and August.

Both bedrooms have twin beds or zip-linked super king double, small wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bedside lights.

Air-conditioning in the summer and heated towel rails in winter, tea/coffee making facility and mini-fridges.

Local area and activities

The property is set amongst countryside and vineyards in a tiny hamlet between the town of Doue la Fontaine (7 miles) and the village of Bouille-Loretz (1.5 miles).

Local Attractions include walking, cycling, wine-tasting, chateaux, golf, Puy du Fou and Futuroscope.

There are several golf courses between 30 - 55 minutes drive away - Saumur, Brissac-Quince; Bauge; Loudon (near Fontevraud) and Cholet. All are open to the public, in good condition, and bookings can usually be done a day or so in advance.

The National Riding School is near Saumur. You can visit and see the horses being trained for the military as well as dressage and 'shows' put on for public.

There are local lakes and rivers for fishing. Also Pescalis, an international fishing centre for all kinds of fishing is about 45 minutes.

Troglodyte caves and underground dwellings to visit particularly around Doue la Fontaine and Saumur.

The beaches of the Vendée - Les Sables d'Olonne and La Rochelle are about 2 hours drive.

Other attractions Include a silkworm farm, watermills / windmills. local markets, military tank museum, museum of satellite communication and the home of Cointreau.

£50 discount for second week.

We would seriously consider renting out the Farmhouse Gîte before 2nd July and beyond 3rd September if requested.

A discount of 10% or a maximum £50 is given on the 2nd week of a two week booking.

A 6 day booking: 10% off whole week

Minimum 3 day booking except whole week bookings only during UK school summer holidays.

It may be possible to book one week plus a few days at the beginning of July and towards the end of August / beginning of September.

Arrival day is up to clients.

Optional evening meals are occasionally available to all our guests but not on a daily basis.
Meals need to be ordered at least 2 days in advance when required on arrival day, and by 11am when staying here for the same evening.
