Our Charente self-catering accommodations are fully equipped with fridge/freezer, cooker, iron/ board, crockery/cutlery, microwave, lots of hot water and comfortable beds. Some have dishwasher &/or washing machine and there is free use of a washing machine on site, plus garden furniture and barbecues.

Chateau grounds

Our 12m x 6m swimming pool is illuminated during the summer evenings providing a magical atmosphere for a late night dip.

We have a grassed badminton court, double table tennis barn and half size football pitch.

Lots of space for children to play, enchanting walkways through our woods and a small fishing pond.

There is a washing machine located in the table tennis barns free for your use.

Within the château itself are five spacious rooms for Bed & Breakfast.

Local area and activities

We are a 10 minutes walk into Chalais, the local town with a weekly street market, bar cafes, shops and restaurants, tennis courts, river fishing and cinema and theatre.

Special events take place in Chalais throughout the year including an International Show Jumping weekend, Music festivals and evening markets.

Nearby are well known tourist attractions such as wine and brandy making tours and a choice of golf courses.

Angoumele - 50km - is a town that has adorned itself with murals depicting characters from the world of the comic strip thus reinforcing Angouléme's position as capital of that medium.

There is a covered market, St Pierre Cathedral, celebrated for its architecture and sculptures and Le Jardin Vert, a delightful green space close to the 13th century ramparts.

The beautiful meandering River Charente runs through Angouleme and relaxing river trips are available.
