Comfortable living area with sofa, chair, stereo CD player, board games, magazines, some books and information pack of the area. There are two French doors opening onto the patio.

Well equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, 4-ring hob, coffee maker and all the usual utensils.

Other facilities include a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and use of a washing machine.

The bedroom has a queen-size bed, a good sized fitted wardrobe and two small bedside cabinets.

Bathroom with shower and toilet.

Outside are three terraces, a barbecue and two sets of outdoor tables and chairs.

Guests also have use of the owners’ small pool.

Local area

The peaceful village of Belloc, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, is situated in the middle of Cathar country with all its castles, medieval cities and villages.

The nearest restaurant, La Bergerie, is 2km away.

Leran - 4km - has a boulangerie, bar/brasserie, post office and a restaurant.

The nearest large supermarket is 7km away.

In the lovely medieval city of Mirepoix (15km) you can also do all your shopping. Mirepoix has a splendid Monday morning market.

Within easy drives are the Cathar castles of Montsegur, Roquefixade, Puivert, Foix and Lagarde.

The largest walled Cathar city is Carcassonne, 50 minutes away.

Other places to visit include the Niaux caves with a history which dates back 13,000 years, a prehistoric park or the longest navigable underground river system in Europe at Labouiche.

Lac de Montbel - 4km - has a swimming beach, pedal boats, a sailing club and fishing.

Skiing - the nearest skiing is at Mont D’Olmes, half an hour by car. There are 15 ski pistes of varying difficulties. Ski hire shops available.

Andorra or the Mediterranean are both a one and a half hour drive away.
