The Centre region of France is part of the Loire valley (Pays de la Loire).
The Loire river runs right through this region, flowing past hundreds of famous chateaux such as Chambord, Chenconeau, Blois, Ussé and providing what the French regard as a North/South climatic divide.

This region is very agricultural with rolling farmlands, woods, lakes and river valleys formed by numerous rivers including the Loir, the Indre, the Creuse and the Cher. Throughout these valleys are the famous wine growing areas of Vouvray and Sancerre.

Centre offers leisurely pastimes such as fishing, river-boating, walking or cycling. There is the stunning architecture of the chateaux and many historical places to visit.

Blois - Located on two hills, on the right bank of the Loire, Blois is dominated by its cathedral and the famous chateau. Blois is the capital of the department Loir-et-Cher and the business centre of a farming district whose chief products are wheat, wine and vegetables, especially asparagus. Chocolate and footwear are also manufactured nearby.
Angers - The most famous attraction in Angers is the massive, stone edifice of Chateau d’Angers. It has a perimeter of almost a kilometre and seventeen towers. The Chateau is the home of a 14th century tapestry depicting the Book of Revelations, called the Tapestry of the Apocalypse.
