We have tried to create a home from home environment for you and there should be everything you need for the perfect break in the delightful Limousin countryside. This really is a get away from it all break, time seems to stand still and the world slows down once you arrive at our property.

La Petite Fontaine, named after the natural spring fountain that gurgles away yards from the front door was built in the early 19th C.  We fell in love with its charm and character on first sight and have worked hard to create a relaxing environment that we hope you will all enjoy.

The gravel driveway runs up from the quiet country lane which runs through the tiny hamlet of Bousseresse which consists of just 3 other neighbours. The large front garden is laid to lawn and a large barn runs adjacent to the drive way. You will find plenty of parking space for at least 4 or 5 cars so if you are a large group there is room for you all.

Behind the barn you will find a large flat piece of land which is perfect for some summer family games, rounders, cricket or tennis. The garden runs around both sides of the house and round the back you will find a delightful weeping willow tree, perfect for sheltering from the mid day heat.

We have a large glass topped patio table with chairs and comfortable cushions where you can all enjoy breakfast, lunch or a long lazy dinner. If relaxation is what you are looking for then grab a book from our selection and lay down on the the welcoming garden swing seat with canopy here you can while away a few hours listening to the birds or, later in the day, the clicking of the cicada's.

The inside of the house is just as welcoming enter through the back door into the modern kitchenette which has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Off the kitchen area is the large, tomette tiled, living area with a comfortable 4 seater sofa and leather armchair. The feature fireplace has a large wood burning stove which is very welcoming for the winter or to take the chill of the early season evenings.

A door off the lounge leads to the small but perfectly adequate downstairs bathroom with toilet, sink and newly installed shower unit. I do mention small as if it is for a party of 8 you will all have to share this bathroom and we would like to make you aware of this before booking however there are plans afoot for 2012 to install an en-suite bathroom upstairs.

The downstairs bedroom is a large and light bedroom with 2 single beds and a double bed settee if required. Here you will find your very own door out to the back garden.

Exit the lounge and you find yourself in the large terracotta tiled hallway with ample space for coats, shoes and other accessories and even the wellies in the winter months. A character wooden staircase leads off the hallway and curves round up to the first floor. Please be careful on the stairs as they have a sharp curve and are probably unsuitable for the really infirm.

The large landing area is a perfect spot to grab a book or to just sit and relax away from the rest of your party if you want some time to yourself. Leading off here you will find 3 further bedrooms, 1 kingsize and 2 double bedrooms all in light relaxing colour schemes with delightful views out to the front or back.

Come and stay and see for yourself!

Live the Limousin Lifestyle!

A stunning area likened to the English Lake District as there are an abundance of lakes dotted around the area the closest being Etang Du Cheix just a 20 minute walk or 5 minute car ride from the house.

You may just want to sit in the garden whiling away the hours on the garden swing listening to the sounds of the birds and watching our neighbours horse grazing in the afternoon sunshine. If it's a more active holiday you are looking for then there are a host of possibilities right on your doorstep.

The area is beautiful for walking and cycling and we have 2 bikes free for your use. A 20 minute walk from the house is the lovely Etang Du Cheix with man-made beach and water sports in July & August. The cafe/restaurant has a lovely balcony where you can sit and watch the world going by and a perfect place to go for an evening stroll.

Further afield you have Aubusson famous for its beautiful tapestries, St Junien for leather gloves and an abundance of Porcelain factory outlets for the infamous Limoges Porcelain.

Limoges is a great place for a day out for a wander around the butchers quarter admiring the architecture of the timber framed houses or take a look inside the large cathedral and then take a wander around the grounds. The city of Limoges has some good shopping for the ladies and some great places to grab a coffee or a meal. Once a month on Sunday there is a great Brocante sale with over 100 stalls to wander around.

Closer to home is our local town La Souterraine, a medieval town with its Port St Jean.  Enjoy a beer at the Cafe du Marche and ask the owner for a key to the tower to get a birds eye view over the town. If you want to people watch then Cafe Chaud offers lovely coffee, a cool beer and a small selection of sandwiches, we quite often enjoy a breakfast of fresh bread and preserves here.

Market days are Thursday and Saturday where you can chose your delicious fruit and vegetables. There are 2 large supermarkets in the town along with a post office and bank. There is also an indoor swimming pool and sports complex.

If it's for leisure, pleasure or an active sporting holiday the Limousin area can offer it all.
