An iron and ironing board, hairdryer, travel cot and child booster seat are also provided.

The house has gas central heating throughout.

Outside

There is a courtyard at the front of the property, ideal for alfresco dining, with barbecue and outdoor table and chairs.

The house also has a garden about 50 yards away and there is a large grass field next to the house.

Local area

The castle at Puilaurens was one of a ring of fortresses used during the crusade against the Cathars. There are 8 castles in the Aude region. The views from the castle are well worth the trek.

The River Boulzane runs though the village and offers peace and tranquillity.

Lapradelle - 1 mile - has a bakery, bar, restaurant and general stores.

Axat -10 minutes - has more shops and a bank.

Quillan - 20 minutes - for a wider range of restaurants, shops and bars.

There are also supermarkets on the road to Perpignan and hypermarkets at both Perpignan and Carcassonne.

The whole area is one of peaks, gorges, valleys and spectacular scenery.

There are numerous opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, canyoning, climbing, cycling, riding, skiing and walking.

The River Aude running between Axat and Quillan offers supervised rafting, kayaking and canoeing.

There are lakes for swimming at Puivert, Chalabre and Arques.

The Gorges de Galamus, just outside St Paul de Fenouillet offers 3 rock pools deep enough to swim. There is also a brand new open-air pool at Axat with slides and shutes.

There are numerous sandy beaches along the Mediterranean coast at Canet-Plage, St Cyprien and Argeles, with an Aquapark between St Cyprien and Argeles.
Leucate Plage has a long sandy beach that doesn’t get too crowded.
Venture further south to Collioure, Port-Vendres and when you get closer to Banyuls the beaches become smaller and less commercialised.

Skiing - from Axat the mountain road takes you to the ski resorts of Mijanes, Formigueres and Les Angles - no more than an hour away.

Andorra is 2 hours away.                     Barcelona is a 3 hour drive away.

Prices include bed linen, electricity and gas except during the months of November to February when heating is not included in the price.
Heating is only charged during October and March if there is a large consumption of gas.

There are no set changeover days or duration.

We offer a reduction of £50 per week for parties of 3 or less from April 10 to October 8.

Short breaks or longer term lets are available during winter months and different change over days.

This is a non smoking property and guests are asked that smoking is restricted to the outside.
