The lakes are fed by a spring ensuring they stay clean and they are only used by ourselves and our guests. Beautiful and tranquil. There are some loungers at the lakeside for your enjoyment. Local area Our village Savault is a small, sleepy village and we are situated on a small no-through lane. In the village is a beautiful little chapel on a hill with spectacular views. Chalet Sureau, at Les Deux Étangs, is situated in the beautiful Morvan nature reserve, in the middle of Burgundy. The Morvan is a vast protected nature reserve with small, sleepy villages, abundant forests, vast meadows with beautiful creamy white Charolais cows and unprecedented starry skies (because there is no light pollution). Summer temperatures are between 25° and 30°, winter can be cold, but normally with low humidity. When the sun comes out in February, we have lunch outside comfortably. The area offers delicious food and beautiful wines for every budget. There is also plenty to do; you can go hiking and cycling, look for a special souvenir at one of the many flea markets, visit local markets for delicious local produce, try a cruise on the Lac des
Settons, rent a quad bike, go horse riding or visit one of the many museums. In the chalet you will find a folder with lots of information about the area, including a list of the brocantes that are on in Burgundy during your stay with us. |
