Le Pressoir

A beautifully renovated detached farm building offering traditional open plan Brittany style accommodation.

The living area has character beams and a granite fireplace with wood burning fire. There is an English TV, music centre, a DVD player and a small selection of DVDs.

A small outdoor breakfast area is accessed by patio door from the lounge area and overlooks the private garden and maize/haricot fields.

Kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

Ground floor, ensuite double bedroom with large French doors opening onto one of the two patio areas.

This bedroom is suitable for wheelchair access with a wet room ensuite. All light switches and plug sockets on the ground floor are located at wheelchair height and the internal doorways are 1m wide, with all external doors being double or 1 1/2 doors.

There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, one with ensuite facilities.

The fourth and fifth bedrooms are twin or bunk beds.

There is a private garden area to two sides of Le Pressoir opening up in to the main grounds.

There is a raised plunge pool for the exclusive use of Le Pressoir guests. Surrounded by a decking area with sun loungers and garden furniture, the pool area provides an ideal sun trap. There is also a barbecue.

Set in 7 acres of grounds Le Pressoir offers not only the private plunge pool, but also use of the shared pool and children’s play equipment.

La Grange and Gilles

A recently restored farm building converted into two semi-detached cottages with private facilities offering all the home comforts and a welcoming log burner for those winter evenings.

Each gîte has two double bedrooms and a third bedroom with bunk beds plus a single bed.

There is a family bathroom, plus a separate shower room.

A fully fitted open-plan kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, firdge/freezer, oven and hob.

The lounge French doors open to the rear of the building onto a patio and garden area with barbecue.

The garden area opens on to the main gardens and access to a large shared swimming pool.

Outside

These rural gîtes are set around a large non-working farm courtyard with views to every aspect. Each gîte has an individual garden area which opens out on to the main grounds offering two pools.

The first pool is a plunge pool which is exclusively for the use of Le Pressoir guests and is located in the garden of Le Pressoir.

The second, larger pool situated in the main garden area is for the use of all guests.

The main pool is kidney shaped, having graduated depths and an integral seating ledge which smaller children find ideal.

Around the pool there is a patio with sun loungers offering superb views overlooking the undulating countryside of the Evel valley, southern Brittany.

With 7 acres of land the farm has plenty of room for children to run around in and there is a selection of play equipment. They will also enjoy seeing our chickens, sheep and pig.

There are swings and slides, table tennis and a boules court.

We live on site and make ourselves as available, or unavailable as you wish. If you would like help and advice on places to go we are happy to advise.

Local area and activities

The farm is situated in a secluded position with no passing traffic, yet with in easy reach of the towns of Vannes and Auray and the beautiful beaches of southern Brittany including Quiberon and Carnac where you will also be able to see the Menhirs, the famous standing stones.

Adjacent to the property, there is a chemin rural (rural walkway) which leads down through the woods to the river Evel, offering excellent fishing and walking trails.

The local village, Guénin, is 3km from the property and although small offers a boulangerie, three bars and a lake with pedalos, climbing frame, swings, mini golf, small paddling pool and fishing.

Baud - 3km - has supermarkets, a pharmacy and doctors.

Alternatively there is the pretty town of Locmine, or a little further a field, Pontivy.

Fishing - the River Evel for chubb, roach, perch, pike and trout, the River Blavet (15 minutes) for trout and carp and deep sea fishing at the coast.

There are also many well-stocked carp lakes in this area of Brittany.

Many water sports are available in the region including sailing, kayaking, wind surfing, kite surfing and body boarding.

Golf - there is a 9-hole course near Pontivy at Rimasion (15 minutes).

There are also five 18-hole courses in the vicinity; Val Queven (22 miles),  St Laurent (26 miles),  Ploemeur-Ocean (27 miles), Baden (28 miles) and Rhuys-Kerver (45 miles).

Distances from ferry ports: Calais - 7 hours, Le Havre - 5 hours, Caen - 3 hours, Cherbourg - 3 hours and St Malo - 2 hours.

Nearest airports - Dinard (2 hours), Brest (2 hours), Lorient (25 minutes), Rennes (1 hour) and Nantes (1 hour 30 minutes).

Linen is provided.
Gas and electricity are included in the price of all summer lets.
There is a small supplement for winter lets, when electric heating is required.

Arrival Pack - we provide a quantity of tea, coffee, sugar
and a complimentary bottle of cool cider or wine.

Towels may be hired at a fixed price per person.
Beach towels cannot be supplied.

Bed linen one set of bed linen is included in the price of the rental.
If you require a change of bed linen this can be arranged at an additional cost.

Each gîte is complete with its own washing machine, indoor drying rack,
outdoor clothes line, iron and ironing board.

Baby equipment: potties, toilet seats, toilet steps, high chairs, toddler chairs,
travel cots, changing mats and stair gates are all available at no extra cost.

Baby sitting in your gîte is available (book in advance).

 From September to July the gîtes may be booked from any start day.

Short breaks - we are able to offer a daily rate, contact us for details.

Birthdays, Valentines day or a Special Occasion

Treat your partner to a romantic short break or a special treat for that birthday celebration. We will be able to arrange a bottle of champagne and chocolates or even flowers for your arrival in the gîte. We can also order a birthday cake from the local boulangerie.
