Accommodation Ground Floor: The lounge contains a three-piece suite and has an open fireplace. There is a colour TV (French and English), DVD player, CD and cassette player plus various board games and books. The dining room has a table and chairs for eight people. French windows which open up onto a south facing patio. There is a large selection of books and lots of tourist information. The kitchen has a table and four chairs and is equipped with a cooker with a gas hob and an electric oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, food processor, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board. There is also a washing machine, drier and freezer in the attached part of the farmhouse. Downstairs WC with a toilet, washbasin and razor point. Ground floor twin-bedded room with triple wardrobe, armchair, bedside units and lamps. First Floor: Double-bedroom with shower unit, triple wardrobe, chair, bedside units and lamps. Double-bedroom with cot, triple wardrobe, chair, bedside units and lamps. Twin-bedded room with triple wardrobe, armchair, bedside units and lamps. The bathroom comprises a bath with shower attachment, washbasin, toilet and razor point. There is a large landing area where there are armchairs and a table. All rooms have electric wall heaters. |

Gardens The farmhouse stands in almost an acre of land, there are extensive gardens and a separate walled area with a barbecue. Facilities provided include sun loungers, table, parasols, garden chairs and various outdoor games. |

Local area The centre of Mellé - 1km - has a bar/café and general store. There are petrol stations and supermarkets at the local towns of Louvigné-du-Désert (5km), St.Georges de Reintembault (5km) and St. James (10km). Brittany offers an infinite variety of landscapes. the beaches and coasts contrast with the heath lands and forests inland. Normandy is a historic and picturesque region known for its lush countryside and countless historical sites. Its little fishing ports, long sandy beaches and inland villages are timeless favourites. The Loire Valley with its magnificent chateaux and churches from another age is just over two hours away. Le Mont-Saint-Michel - 45 minutes - is widely regarded as one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. Fougères - 20 minutes - has a superb medieval chateau which is the largest castle in Brittany. There is also a large forest which is ideal for walking and cycling. Saint-Malo, the old city of the sea was almost completely destroyed in 1944. Since then it has been faithfully restored including the complete inner city ramparts. There are several long sandy beaches. St. James - 10 minutes - has one of the largest American World War II cemeteries. Dinard is a fashionable seaside town on the Emerald coast, near to Saint-Malo. There are picturesque beaches and promenades. Dinan is a lovely old medieval town on a hill with granite and timbered buildings. Below the old town is a quaint port on the river Rance. Rennes - 1 hour - is the 'capital' city of Brittany and is known as a City of Art and History. There is a historic medieval part of the city with half-timbered buildings. There are various museums, art galleries, buildings and parks. |
