Le Grand Camus

Completely renovated to a high standard in 2008, this property is entered from a private driveway/terrace. The accommodation comprises:

Kitchen - luxuriously appointed and provided with more than enough equipment for a party of six. The appliances are brand new and include a range cooker with gas hob and electric oven and a separate microwave. Everything from salad spinner to espresso coffee maker is included.

Dining room - the open plan ground floor layout floods the property with light. There is a dining table that can extend to seat 8 in comfort and a sideboard with all the necessary crockery and equipment.

Living room - set at right angles to the dining room, but continuing the open plan feel, the living room features three comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove, TV/DVD, board games, books and a CD player with MP3 jack.

Downstairs bedroom with twin beds that can be configured as a king sized double if desired, chests of drawers, mirror, hanging space and chair.

Shower room with walk-in shower, WC and sink with storage underneath. This room also houses the washing machine.

Stairs to landing leading to:

Master bedroom with super king sized 4 poster bed, exposed oak beams and chandeliers, wardrobe, chest and dressing table. Views to both the south and north over beautiful unspoiled countryside. En suite bathroom with bath and separate shower.

Bedroom with twin beds that can be reconfigured as a super king sized bed if desired, wardrobe, chest and dressing table. En suite shower room.

Outside

The house is situated in large south-west facing grounds with a large private terrace with a stone built barbecue. It has a shrub-bordered lawn leading to an apple orchard.

There are uninterrupted views across woodland and ancient moor land.

Plenty of wooden garden furniture is provided.

Le Grand Camus is on an extremely quiet rural road serving just two other properties and has little or no traffic.

There is sufficient space for three vehicles to be parked off road.

Le Petit Camus

Le Petit Camus has been completely renovated to a high standard in 2008, and now provides an extremely comfortable holiday retreat, while retaining its original charm.

Oak beams, a-frames and ceiling boards have been restored; a traditional log burner provides a focal point whilst modern electric heaters and ample insulation ensure the property is comfortable year round.

The front door leads to the living area, comprising an open plan kitchen/dining room/living room that has charming views over the garden and valley beyond.

The kitchen is fully equipped, having a cooker with electric oven and gas hob. There is a dishwasher and fridge with ice compartment, a microwave and range of small appliances.

The dining area has French doors and an extendable table to seat 4-6.

The living area has two comfortable sofas, a log burner, a TV/DVD player with free to air UK programmes, a music system with radio, CD with iPod jack, and a wide range of books and board games to suit all tastes.

A separate utility room at the rear houses the washing machine, water heater and ground floor WC.

First floor

Double bedroom with king size bed.

Bedroom with twin beds that can be joined to form a super king double on request.

Both bedrooms are en suite and have hanging space, chests, mirrors and chairs. They are full of light and have superb views. Duvets appropriate to the season are provided.

Both en suite shower rooms have a walk in shower, sink with storage under, shaver point and WC.

A cot and high chair can be provided on request, subject to availability.

Outside

Le Petit Camus has a raised patio area with built in stone barbecue and plenty of solid wood garden furniture.

In front of the house is a shrub-bordered private garden featuring the original stone well (safely capped with a heavy duty grill cover), beyond which is the orchard shared with Le Grand Camus.

To the left of the house there is a gravelled private parking area with ample space for 2 cars.

Local area

Plemet, the local town, is in an extremely scenic location and has a trout lake, surrounded by parkland with children's play area. There are many marked walking and cycling routes around Plemet and its neighbouring communes, whilst the proximity of the River Lie also makes it a focal point for anglers visiting the region.

Just 2km up-river kayaks and all terrain bikes can be hired whilst there are stables with ponies for hire in nearby Loudeac Forest.

A wide variety of options are available locally for eating out, including traditional Breton creperies, auberges, excellent seafood restaurants, relaxed bistros or formal award-winning gourmet restaurants.

Nearby medieval Moncontour alternates with more famous Dinan to hold realistic bi-annual medieval fetes, which are sightseeing musts, like the chateaux at Josselin, Cap Frehel and St Malo.

There is a large indoor pool complex at Loudeac with flumes and whirlpool as well as a full sized swimming pool.

In the summer nearby La Cheze features an open-air lido.

Brittany also has several high quality golf courses, notably the international course at Val Andre, set above a lovely long sandy beach, just 40 minutes drive from Plemet.

The beautiful north Breton coast has stunning scenery with small rocky coves filled with sailing boats, stretches of flat golden sands and shelving inlets where mussels are farmed overlooked by open moorland.

Terms - £150 / € 150 deposit per week, balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival.
